The Christian Community
Golf Association (CCGA) will be holding its Annual Charity Golf
Tournament on Thursday, June 9, 2011
at Oak Glen Golf Course in Stillwater, MN.
The origin of this event was inspired at 30,000 feet by a group of
Promise Keepers on the way to Washington, D.C. They gathered with
over 1 million men at the Promise Keepers scared assembly on October
4th, 1997. All present at the assembly were encouraged to focus on
Jesus Christ and to participate in activities which would help being
down racial and denominational barriers.
The format will be a
scramble consisting of teams from various participating churches,
businesses and not-for-profit organizations in the Twin City
area. The purpose of this Fellowship event is as follows:
-
Fellowship:
Christians will golf together as church,
business or not-for-profit organzation teams for the
27 hole scramble. The day will
conclude with dinner, speaker, awards,
and prizes.
-
Participating Church Fundraiser: CCGA will provide
participating church teams tournament information and
sponsorship pledge cards which they may use for raising funds
needed for tournament entry fees plus their own church's
ministry projects. A registration fee of $200
is required for each golfer and should be paid to CCGA by
June 1st. Additional funds above the $800
team (4 players/team) entry fee will be applied to the
individual church's ministry
projects.
Effective in 2002 and thereafter,
each team's charity of choice will
automatically receive $100.00 from CCGA from the team's
registration fee ($25.00 per paid player).
