11th Annual CCGA
Charity Golf Tournament
Thursday, June 5, 2008
On Thursday, June 5,
2008, the Christian Community Golf
Association and participating Twin City area churches will hold the
11th Annual
Charity Golf Tournament at
Wild Marsh Golf
Club in Buffalo, MN.
The Christian Community Golf Association
(CCGA) held its First Annual Charity Golf Tournament on July 31,
1998! The origin of this event was inspired at 30,000 feet by
a group of Promise Keepers on the way to Washington, D.C. They
gathered with over 1 million men at the Promise Keepers scared
assembly on October 4th, 1997. All present at the assembly were
encouraged to focus on Jesus Christ and to participate in activities
which would help being down racial and denominational barriers.
The format will be a scramble consisting of
up to 36 teams from various participating churches in the Twin City
area. The purpose of this Fellowship event is as follows:
-
Fellowship:
Christian golfing together as church teams for the first 18 hole
scramble. Then participants
play an additional 18 holes with players other than those from
their own congregation. This "faith mixer" will provide the
opportunity for you to meet new friends and share your faith in
a recreational setting. The day will conclude with awards,
prizes, and an agape meal together.
-
Participating Church
Fundraiser: CCGA will provide participating church
teams tournament information and sponsorship pledge cards which
they may use for raising funds needed for tournament entry fees
plus their own church's ministry projects or designated charity.
A registration fee of $200 is required
for each golfer and is due CCGA by June 1st. Additional funds
above the $800 team (4 players/team)
entry fee will be applied to the individual church's ministry
projects. Furthermore, each team's selected ministry project
will receive a check from CCGA for up to $100.00 ($25.00
per paid team player) after the tournament. All team supported
ministries and/or charities must agree with CCGA's compliance
requirements, e.g. CCGA's
Statement of Faith.
-
CCGA
Charity Partner Project: International
Ministerial Fellowship (IMF), located in Fridley, is an
association of independent Christian ministers and lay leaders
located in approximately 49 states and 27 foreign countries.
They have been called to serve those laboring in front-line
